Mayor Aras: “We will continue to be present on international platforms to promote our Muğla in the best way possible”

Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, said: “Our Muğla is one of the leading cities in the world in terms of tourism potential. In 2024, we once again proved our strength in this field by hosting 10 million domestic and foreign tourists. The interest of tourists, especially from Russia, is increasing every year. Russia is the second country that sends the most visitors to our city. For this very reason, we attach great importance to the organizations in Russia. To ensure that Muğla takes its deserved place in the international arena and to strengthen cooperation within the tourism sector, we took our place at the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair held in Moscow from 18 to 20 March 2025. MITT Moscow is one of the most prestigious organisations in the sector, bringing together tourism professionals from all over the world for more than 30 years. This fair provides an excellent opportunity to display Muğla’s diverse offerings in alternative tourism areas such as nature, culture, health, sports, gastronomy, and agro-tourism, beyond the traditional focus on sea, sand, and sun tourism. As Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to be present on international platforms to promote the history, nature and cultural heritage of our city in the best way possible in accordance with our vision of ‘World City Muğla’. Muğla is not only a holiday destination, but also a culture of life. We will maintain our efforts with determination to introduce this culture to the world and ensure sustainable growth in tourism.”
