Ambassador Al-Adwani: “We Are Ready to Increase Commercial Cooperation”
Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Adwani, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Ankara, expressed his admiration for the natural beauty of Muğla during his visit to the city aimed at strengthening cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait.
Ambassador Al-Adwani emphasized that the relations between Türkiye and Kuwait are based on a historical foundation stating: “I believe that the relationship between Türkiye and Kuwait is built on a strong historical foundation. Currently, 1.5 million Kuwaiti citizens live in Turkey, while approximately 600,000 Turkish citizens reside in Kuwait. Our strong cultural ties will bring great benefits to both societies. There are Turkish companies operating in Kuwait, and we want to take this trade even further.”
Cultural Invitation from Kuwait to Muğla: Bridging Closer Through Music and Art
The Ambassador expressed his interest in Muğla’s tourism potential and cultural heritage, stating that they wish for the commercial diplomacy between the two countries to become more visible.
“The relations between Türkiye and Kuwait are not limited to the economic sphere; we also aim to enrich our strong cultural ties. We are ready to collaborate in areas such as trade, tourism, and local products. As mutual exchanges increase, our cooperation will grow stronger. Turkish TV series, music, and performing arts are especially popular in Kuwait. Türkiye inspires many artists in our country. We also want to get to know Türkiye’s regional music, folk dances, and performing arts more closely. The music festivals we organize in Kuwait during January and February provide an important platform for such cultural exchanges. We would be very pleased to welcome artists, local musicians and folk dance groups from Muğla to participate in these festivals.”
Mayor Aras: “Mutual Visits and Cultural Exchange Should Increase”
Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, expressed their full readiness to support the development of commercial relations with Kuwait and added “Our Muğla is known not only for tourism but also for its local products. In olive cultivation and olive oil production, we rank second in Türkiye after Balıkesir. We produce geographically certified olives. We also have geographically certified pine honey, and we are the world’s leading producer of pine honey. In the field of marble mining, we hold an important position with our brand known as ‘Muğla White.’”
“We Would Like to Participate in Kuwait Festivals and Introduce the Zeybek Dance”
Emphasizing that Kuwait is one of the region’s important centres with its historical and cultural richness, Mayor Aras said, “We also hope that our fellow citizens from Muğla will visit Kuwait. We are ready to take steps to encourage mutual visits in this regard. At the same time, we value the development of cooperation between the two countries in culture, tourism, and trade. We are ready to provide mutual support.”
