Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek promoted two major cities of tourism, Muğla and Antalya, at the ITB Berlin Tourism Fair held in Germany.

The 59^th annual ITB International Berlin Tourism Fair took place in the Messe Berlin fairground in the capital of Germany, between 4 and 6 March. Türkiye’s leading tourism cities Muğla and Antalya were also represented at the fair. Travel agencies, hotel chains, tour operators, destination management companies, tourism technologies and other related service providers participated in the ITB International Berlin Tourism Fair.

Ahmet Aras, who is the President of the Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and the Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, and Muhittin Böcek, who is the President of the Mediterranean Municipalities Union and the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, participated in the fair and introduced Muğla and Antalya, Türkiye’s top three tourism destinations, to the participants. The fair is of great value in terms of introducing the cultural and natural richness of Muğla and Antalya to a wider audience and creating new opportunities to meet sustainable tourism goals.

The Mayors Contribute to the tourism of Türkiye

Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras and Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who were in Germany for the ITB International Berlin Tourism Fair, made significant visits. The two Mayors visited the executives and members of the Turkish-German Sister Cities Federation and the Turkish-German Business Association and briefed them about their cities.

Participating in the fair, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras said, “We continue to work in harmony with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality’s Mayor Muhittin Böcek for Muğla and Antalya, two of Türkiye’s cities that have a say in tourism. We are aware of the importance of ITB International Berlin Tourism Fair for the promotion of our cities. Along with Muhittin Böcek, the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, we had a productive session where we introduced the work and projects we are conducting in our cities. We also engaged in important contacts for collaborations. I believe that these contacts will have a positive impact on our cities’ economic growth. As the Mayors of Metropolitan Municipalities, we will continue to develop projects together and represent our country in the best way possible for Muğla and Antalya, which rank in the top three in Turkish tourism.
