During the working visit to Rhodes, I had the opportunity to meet with Mr Haris Doukas, the Mayor of Athens.

We discussed the details of potential partnerships between Athens, one of the most important cities of the Mediterranean, and Muğla. We emphasised the significance of both bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation within international institutions such as the ‘B40 Balkan Cities Network’, of which Muğla Metropolitan Municipality is in the process of becoming a member and that Athens is also a member.

The collaboration between the Athens Municipality and our Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, as important actors in the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean Region, represents a significant step for our vision of World City Muğla by participating in joint projects based on regional peace, democracy, and friendship.
