
27 Jun Visit of Azerbaijani Ambassador Rashad Mammadov to Mayor Aras
Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Aras welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ankara, Rashad Mammadov, at his office. During the meeting, the friendship between the two countries, opportunities for cultural cooperation, and potential collaborations at the local government level were discussed.
Ambassador Rashad Mammadov was accompanied during the visit by Eldar Aliyev, Deputy Head of Mission and Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Perviz Mammadov. The meeting addressed topics such as establishing sister city relations between Muğla and cities in Azerbaijan, and enhancing cultural and tourism exchange.
At the end of the visit, both parties exchanged views on potential joint projects that could be carried out at the local government level and expressed mutual goodwill and intentions for future cooperation.

During his visit, Rashad Mammadov said: “Thank you very much for your hospitality. We are very happy to be in our beloved Muğla. The relationship between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is one to be emulated. Guided by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words, ‘Azerbaijan’s sorrow is our sorrow, its joy is our joy,’ our ties are at the highest level. Azerbaijan and Türkiye are aligned on many fronts. Your strength adds strength to ours. We will work to further develop our relations with Muğla. Among our people and nations, there is a mutual respect, and we will continue to enrich this.”

President of the Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Ahmet Aras, said: “We wish to further strengthen and continue our relations with Azerbaijan. It is an honor for us to host our Azerbaijani guests in a beautiful city like Muğla. Rest assured, we will make our Azerbaijani guests feel as if they are in their own home.
