Mr. Aras, attended the Climate Summit as a speaker and discussed strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change on oceans and seas. The event, organized by the Metropolitan of Nice C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur, the City of Nice and La Tribune newspaper, also aims to increase environmental resilience in marine and coastal areas by bringing together local and global solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe met with the Deputy Mayor of Cannes, Mr. Thomas de Pariente, to discuss strengthening our strategic partnerships, and we talked about Cannes&#8217; successful methods of revitalizing year-round tourism, cultural tourism and maritime tourism. We agreed to establish joint efforts between Mu\u011fla and Cannes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the following part of our visit, we examined the Nice Haliotis 2 Waste Water Recycling Plant, one of the largest facilities in Europe, and decided to initiate joint works with MUSKI.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afterwards, we held efficient meetings with Nice Municipality delegation, Antibes Mayor and Sophia-Antipolis Technology Zone officials and examined exemplary projects on smart cities, artificial intelligence, health, maritime, clean energy and cyber security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will continue to strengthen our Mu\u011fla at the international level, develop innovative projects and bring the best practices together with our local dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mayor Aras Attended the Climate Summit and Signed the Brest &#8211; Sea&#8217;ties Declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Climate Summit Nice C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur was organized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality of Nice, the City of Nice and La Tribune Newspaper, and hosted by Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi, with the participation of Mayor of Mu\u011fla Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Aras as a speaker. The summit brought together politicians, scientists and business representatives from around the world to discuss climate change and the protection of marine ecosystems.&nbsp; The Nice Climate Summit made valuable contributions to global climate efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mayor Aras; \u201cLocal governments should be leaders in resilience initiatives\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speech at the Climate Summit, Ahmet Aras, Mayor of Mu\u011fla Metropolitan Municipality and President of the Union of Coastal Aegean Municipalities, explained the steps taken by Mu\u011fla in the efforts to cope with climate change, the critical role played by local governments in this process and the projects carried out for the protection of marine ecosystems. Increasing marine protected areas, strengthening climate monitoring systems and developing global cooperation were among the main agenda items of the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mayor Aras Signed the Brest &#8211; Sea&#8217;ties Declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brest -Sea&#8217;ties Declaration, supported by ICLEI &#8211; Local Governments for Sustainability, with Spain, Norway, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, on the initiative of France and supported by ICLEI &#8211; Local Governments for Sustainability, committing to a joint effort designed to mitigate the effects of sea level rise and increase the resilience of coastlines, was signed by Mu\u011fla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras. The Declaration emphasizes the urgency of coordinated local and international efforts to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the acceleration of sea level rise caused by climate change.
