During the meeting held at the Metropolitan Municipality\u2019s headquarters, the commercial relations between the two countries, historical ties, cultural interactions and opportunities for cooperation were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit was also attended by B\u00fclent Karaku\u015f, Chairman of the Mu\u011fla Chamber of Industry and Commerce; Hur\u015fit \u00d6zt\u00fcrk, Chairman of the Mu\u011fla Commodity Exchange; Re\u015fit \u00d6zer, Chairman of the Milas Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and S\u00fcleyman Mutlu Ayhan, Chairman of the Marmaris Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the visit, Mu\u011fla\u2019s tourism potential, natural beauty, and geographically certified products were discussed, with a special focus on promoting honey and olive oil production to international markets. The guest ambassador received Milas olive oil, one of Mu\u011fla\u2019s geographically certified products, as a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" src=\"https:\/\/worldcitymugla.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/buyukelci.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1381\" style=\"width:530px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ambassador Al-Adwani: \u201cWe Are Ready to Increase Commercial Cooperation\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Adwani, Kuwait\u2019s Ambassador to Ankara, expressed his admiration for the natural beauty of Mu\u011fla during his visit to the city aimed at strengthening cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador Al-Adwani emphasized that the relations between T\u00fcrkiye and Kuwait are based on a historical foundation stating: \u201cI believe that the relationship between T\u00fcrkiye and Kuwait is built on a strong historical foundation. Currently, 1.5 million Kuwaiti citizens live in Turkey, while approximately 600,000 Turkish citizens reside in Kuwait. Our strong cultural ties will bring great benefits to both societies. There are Turkish companies operating in Kuwait, and we want to take this trade even further.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cultural Invitation from Kuwait to Mu\u011fla: Bridging Closer Through Music and Art<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ambassador expressed his interest in Mu\u011fla\u2019s tourism potential and cultural heritage, stating that they wish for the commercial diplomacy between the two countries to become more visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe relations between T\u00fcrkiye and Kuwait are not limited to the economic sphere; we also aim to enrich our strong cultural ties. We are ready to collaborate in areas such as trade, tourism, and local products. As mutual exchanges increase, our cooperation will grow stronger. Turkish TV series, music, and performing arts are especially popular in Kuwait. T\u00fcrkiye inspires many artists in our country. We also want to get to know T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s regional music, folk dances, and performing arts more closely. The music festivals we organize in Kuwait during January and February provide an important platform for such cultural exchanges. We would be very pleased to welcome artists, local musicians and folk dance groups from Mu\u011fla to participate in these festivals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mayor Aras: \u201cMutual Visits and Cultural Exchange Should Increase\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Mayor of Mu\u011fla Metropolitan Municipality, expressed their full readiness to support the development of commercial relations with Kuwait and added \u201cOur Mu\u011fla is known not only for tourism but also for its local products. In olive cultivation and olive oil production, we rank second in T\u00fcrkiye after Bal\u0131kesir. We produce geographically certified olives. We also have geographically certified pine honey, and we are the world\u2019s leading producer of pine honey. In the field of marble mining, we hold an important position with our brand known as \u2018Mu\u011fla White.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cWe Would Like to Participate in Kuwait Festivals and Introduce the Zeybek Dance\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emphasizing that Kuwait is one of the region\u2019s important centres with its historical and cultural richness, Mayor Aras said, \u201cWe also hope that our fellow citizens from Mu\u011fla will visit Kuwait. We are ready to take steps to encourage mutual visits in this regard. At the same time, we value the development of cooperation between the two countries in culture, tourism, and trade.
