According\nto rumors, Kavakl\u0131dere took its name from the stream passing through it and the\nplane trees around it, which the local people call &#8220;Poplar \/ Kavak in\nTurkish &#8220;. It is believed that the first settlers of the region were\nTurkmens from the Karake\u00e7ili Y\u00f6r\u00fcks in the early 17th century. Later, with the\nsettlement of T\u00fcrkmen families from Denizli, Denizli-Tavas, Mu\u011fla, U\u015fak-E\u015fme,\nU\u015fak-Karahall\u0131, and the Kaz Mountains region, the village structure was\nestablished. These\nscriptures describe the names of settlements and kingdoms in Western Anatolia\nand the routes taken by Hittite kings during their military campaigns in the\nareas they conquered. It is believed that Hyllarima, located on a hill\napproximately 1.5 km north east of Asarc\u0131k Hill, corresponds to the Wallarima\nmentioned in the Hittite scriptures.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;line-height:150%\"><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;ITC Avant Garde&quot;,sans-serif;\nmso-bidi-font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;\">Traces of settlement from the Bronze\nAge, Early Iron Age, and Archaic Period of Hyllarima have been found on Asarc\u0131k\nHill, located in \u00c7ayboyu\/K\u0131ll\u0131aliler Neighborhood. Excavations have revealed\nthat Asarc\u0131k Hill was inhabited from the early 3rd millennium BC. However,\nthese settlement traces were constantly damaged in later periods, thus in\nlimited evidence of cultural continuity, except for the Middle Ages and Early\nHellenistic Period. Stone and adobe building foundations dating back to the 2nd\nmillennium BC, along with associated pottery, stone tools, and textile industry\nrelated to weaving, have been discovered. Pottery finds discribe that the\nsettlement continued between 1200 BC and 330-320 BC. Moreover, well-preserved\nremains of well preserved walls from the Iron Age are also present.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;line-height:150%\"><span style=\"mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;line-height:150%;font-family:&quot;ITC Avant Garde&quot;,sans-serif;\nmso-bidi-font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;\">The last cultural period of Hyllarima\nis correlate with the Middle Ages. During this period, a defense system was\nbuilt, supported by 3.5 meter high towers and surrounded by 2.5 meter high and\n2 meter thick city walls. The interior of the defense system has a tight\narchitectural configuration. During the excavations, traces of a fire that took\nplace in the 13th century AD were found, especially in the city wall area where\nthe gates are located. In such a case suggests that the region may have been\nconquered by Turkish raids coming through the Menderes Valley. During this period,\ncoppersmiths developed a unique language among themselves, and this special\nlanguage is still used among the local people today. In the past, all copper\nitems were entirely handmade. Although this traditional production method has\ndiminished with the advent of machinery, there are still artisans who work\ncopper by hand, creating decorative items, trays, copper bowls, and roasting\npans.
