Datça Almond Blossom Festival

The Traditional Datça Almond Blossom Festival held in Datça district of Muğla witnessed colourful scenes.

The Almond Blossom Festival, which has become traditional in Datça and will be held between February 13-16, was completed this year with intense participation.

Stating that Muğla resembles a paradise in every corner, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras said, “Our Muğla is a paradise in every corner. It is a heavenly geography with its history, natural beauties, culture and everything. Today we are having our Almond Festival here. We are organizing our Tangerine Festival in Bodrum, Olive and Harvest Festivals in Yatağan and Milas. We are having our Seydimeker Tomato Festival. We live in another beautiful city with all its districts. Let us appreciate it. It is our duty to protect and preserve this beautiful geography.”

Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık said, “Our Muğla is a paradise on earth. Datça is one of the rarest corners of this paradise. Today, while people are struggling with snow in Anatolia, we are welcoming spring here,” and thanked everyone who contributed to the preparation of the festival.

After the speeches, the festival continued with folklore performances and concerts by local artists.
