Working Teams will be established for Smart City Applications

During his visit to France, Muğla Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras met with the Development Director of the Sophia-Antipolis Science and Technology Park, participating in a comprehensive presentation on key areas such as smart cities, artificial intelligence, healthcare, sustainable maritime practices, clean energy, and cybersecurity. Mayor Aras also visited Mr Jean Leonetti, Mayor of Antibes. During the interview, water management, smart city applications, technological co-operation were addressed and it was decided to establish working teams to advance these initiatives.

MUSKİ will collaborate with Haliotis 2, one of Europe’s largest wastewater recycling facilities

A visit to the Haliotis 2 Wastewater Recycling Facility in Nice was conducted to focus on environmental protection, sustainability, and recycling. As one of the largest wastewater recycling facilities in Europe, Nice Haliotis 2 is of great importance in terms of environmental sustainability. The facility is recognized as a complex that both protects water resources and minimises wastewater discharge that may adversely affect the ecosystem of the Mediterranean Sea by treating and reusing wastewater. This visit laid the groundwork for collaboration between MUSKİ and the Nice facility. On the final day of the visit to France, Timur Aksakal, Manager of Service Expertise for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), presented his findings, followed by an in-depth field tour.

Mayor Aras: “Our work will continue with the vision of World City Muğla.”

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras stated that they have laid the foundations for co-operation on many issues by visiting the cities of France such as Nice and Cannes, which share similarities with Muğla in terms of climate and geography. He also mentioned that the visits were very efficient and that they continued to work for the vision of “World City Muğla”.

Mayor Aras; ‘We made valuable visits in France on various topics such as organic agriculture, renewable energy, and especially wastewater treatment. We had the opportunity to see and examine all these initiatives on-site. We will cooperate with cities that are geographically similar to Muğla and have a strong presence in agriculture and tourism. Our visits and efforts will continue in line with our vision of “World City Muğla”.
